Wedding and family photographer in Charleston, South Carolina, since 2014. I shoot close, in color, and mostly when you’re not looking.

I grew up on James Island, where my grandmother kept a shoebox of photos under every bed. I bought my first film camera at fifteen with babysitting money and never really put it down.
I photographed my first wedding in 2014, for a friend who couldn’t afford anyone else. Twelve years and a few hundred weddings later, I still work the same way: close to people, in color, and mostly when nobody is posing.
I take on about 25 weddings a year, so every couple gets me from the first call to the last sparkler. In between, I photograph families on the beach, seniors in the marsh and small business owners who need photos that actually look like them.
When I’m not shooting, I’m on the water with my husband Sam and our dog Biscuit, or developing film in a closet that used to be a pantry.

Three things that don’t change, whether it’s a 200 guest wedding or a Tuesday on the beach.
1
I stay close
I’m in the room for the buttons and on the dance floor for the last song. You’ll forget I’m there by the second hour.
2
I barely pose you
A few prompts to get you moving, then I watch. The best photos happen between the ones you planned.
3
You get the whole story
Every gallery is told in order, from the first coffee to the last sparkler, so you can relive the day as it happened.
